Anesthesiology

The Anesthesiology Department has a rich history of clinical care, residency education and nationally funded research. Through a highly regarded residency program that involves faculty from all subspecialties, Weill Cornell Medicine is training the next generation of anesthesiologists, intensivists and pain medicine specialists. Educational programs include chronic pain management, critical care medicine, regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine. The department uses outcomes-based research with a focus on quality improvement and patient safety. Research projects such as new approaches to postoperative pain and the use of anesthetic drugs to investigate memory help WCM lead the way in pain management.
