I may be biased – but Weill Cornell Medicine’s students are among the best.  They enter medical or graduate school with an array of accomplishments already under their belts, then they train with world-class physicians and scientists at an institution ranked in the top ten by U.S. News & World Report.

At Weill Cornell Medicine, we work together to provide our patients with the most comprehensive, evidence-based care and to train the next generation of physicians and scientists to be leaders in healthcare and biomedical investigation.  We are always striving toward a fundamental goal: to improve health.

At a meeting of our Board of Overseers on September 26, followed by a community Town Hall meeting on October 1, I was pleased to present the working plan for our institutional vision for the next decade.  This working plan articulates key goals and objectives for Weill Cornell Medicine over the next five to ten years and encompasses our entire mission as an academic medical institution. 

Medical schools around the country, including Weill Cornell Medicine, are concerned about the rising costs of medical education and have implemented a variety of measures over the years aimed at reducing or eliminating debt.  The goal of these initiatives is keep medical education accessible to a talented and diverse body of students, while ensuring that young physicians are able to pursue productive and fulfilling careers, across a range of specialties, without undue financial strain.
