Elimination of Medical Education Debt for All Qualifying Students

I am thrilled to announce a transformative new scholarship program that will eliminate medical education debt for all students who qualify for financial aid. The game-changing new financial aid program expands Weill Cornell Medicine’s scholarship offerings to provide debt-free education to all medical students with demonstrated financial need beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year and then every year thereafter.

Weill Cornell Medicine is a global institution with many partnerships in New York and around the world.  Through a variety of programs and initiatives, it extends its mission to care, discover, and teach on an international scale.  Students, trainees, and faculty foster positive change by exchanging knowledge and skills across cultures and by helping to build capacity in emerging and resource-poor countries.

At a meeting of our Board of Overseers on September 26, followed by a community Town Hall meeting on October 1, I was pleased to present the working plan for our institutional vision for the next decade.  This working plan articulates key goals and objectives for Weill Cornell Medicine over the next five to ten years and encompasses our entire mission as an academic medical institution.
